Kenya Airports Authority has invited interested bidders for a public auction of aircraft for prices ranging from as low as Sh94,300 to Sh100,000.

The authority, which is mandated to handle operations, safety and security at all Kenyan airports said that it seeks to auction all abandoned airplanes at Wilson airport.

In an advertisement, KAA noted that the aircraft will be auctioned on August 9 and interested bidders can view the planes starting from 24th July.

All the interested purchasers will be required to pay a deposit of Sh100,000 for the items on auction before the auction date.

“Where the bid price is lower than the deposit price, the bidder will be refunded the difference between the bid and the deposit amount on presentation of the receipt,” KAA noted.

“All interested purchasers are requested to view the items and verify their respective details as these are not warranted by the Auctioneer nor KAA as the items for sale “As where-is” basis,” the KAA advert said.

The most expensive aircraft is a Hulanda, registration 5H-KLA operated by Tandill Limited. It will be sold at Sh10,045,000.

55 baron of registration 5Y-AUS belonging to Queensway Air Services is the cheapest at a reserve price of Sh94,300.

“Those are not planes but playing grounds. Unless you want to use it as a house or something else,” the authority stated.

Fly 540, Profile investment, Safe Air Company, IAP Group Australia, Kenya Racing Team, Air Kenya Express, Arvin Pahwa/Queensway Air Express, Knight Aviation and Phoenix are other companies whose aircraft will be auctioned.
