One of the global thought leaders in entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurs’ Organization, has called on business owners to look past the challenging economic atmosphere in the country and go on to explore the opportunities that abound in the economy.

Mr. Sunday Gbenjo, President of the Lagos chapter of the EO recently made this call at the organizations’ Lagos Learning Event, an experience sharing forum, featuring the President/CEO, Beloxxi Industries Limited, Mr. Obi Ezeude. The event held at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

According to Gbenjo, “When the going gets tough; the tough get going. Instead of worrying and complaining about the seemingly challenging time, this is the real time for entrepreneurs to come together and learn the tools needed to weather the economic storm”. He pointed out that it is usually during difficult times that certain opportunities suffice for discerning investors to tap.

The event which was tagged Tales By Moonlight: An Evening With Ezeude, featured the Beloxxi CEO as Guest Speaker. He shared the moving story of his firm with the entrepreneurs, describing it as a pure Nigerian narrative.

In his rendition which was titled Zero to Hero: My Success Story, Ezeude talked about the vision and idea behind Beloxxi, which is a leading biscuit production company. He disclosed that he was able to transform the company from a humble beginning to a multimillion-dollar empire all within just a few years through his uncommon resilience and strict sticking to core business values.

Speaking of the initial challenges he experienced, Ezeude pointed out that the problem in Nigeria is having a great idea and having no one that believes in you. He encouraged the entrepreneurs to call it quits on their dreams and visions, but to learn from his story that with doggedness and discipline, the odds can be beaten.

The Finance Chair, EO Lagos, Saidu Basharu, welcomed the entrepreneurs to the event and urged them to adopt the business template of the Beloxxi boss, who he described as a good role model. “In EO, everything is possible because we like to be creative. But as a member, you are not allowed to advise, but rather share the experience”, he said.
