Nairobi-based online marketing platform Findit has revealed that they will use 40 percent of the recently raised seed funding on product development.

Viral Shah, CEO and founder of the e-commerce platform divulged to Weetracker that they are currently in the process of developing a mobile application.

Regarding the mobile application, Viral said, ” We realised that many professional services such as Dental Clinics or Law firms, maybe even Architects or Quantity Surveyors don’t have a meeting reservation system. They are still old fashioned using manual booking systems on their diaries. That s where we decided to create a value add for our clients. At the same time, our first market is Restaurants, so we have designed a booking/ reservation engine on our Mobile App. Adding on we have also added a live chat feature where our users can directly chat with the businesses listed on the platform for inquiries (this will make things more efficient since the vendor doesn’t need to check his email to respond to the user.”

The business directory recently raised USD 200K from undisclosed investors. Other than the mobile app development that is currently underway, Findit intends to soon expand into the East African market and by the end of 2020 further venture into Nigeria, Ghana and Zambia.

They recently unveiled the company’s website to over 300 people. Viral says they are preparing for their marketing campaign in a bid to increase awareness are user base.

The Findit founder also spoke about their revenue model. “Businesses are charged an annual fixed fee to be on the platform. Unlike Jumia or other eCommerce platforms in Africa, Findit users buy directly from the seller. We don’t take a commission,” he said.

Findit.ke is an online marketing platform aimed at helping businesses connect to their customers and maintain an online presence as well. It signs up companies both online and offline and allows them to showcase their products and services and connect with their customers online.

The platform attracts users by having continuous deals on the platform, from travel to dining, and many more. The platform claims to have over 200 business listings currently and is aiming to grow the number.
