Zuoix, Dikorah And Mooexams Hold The Centerstage At DEMO Africa’s Cameroon Tour

In what seems like a preparation for the continent-wide scheme tailored to be DEMO Africa, a series of events have been heralding the conclave in the major pockets of Africa. This time, the limelight was shed on Cameroon in Central Africa on 13th July, which saw numerous startups from the country turning up, trying to get to grips with the avenue and battling on the stage with their pitch sessions. DEMO Africa Cameroun Tour was held at ActivSpaces, a platform that has partnered with DEMO Africa and has been actively involved in the entire planning process. Zuoix, Dikorah and MooExams – described as vibrant startup teams – were proclaimed winners of the Douala tour after a remarkable event.

Zuiox is an Offensive Information Company who business idea is to create experiences that have the impetus to influence brands, grow ventures and make people’s life much more comforting. In the offing, the startup has informational security which helps a variety of stakeholders stay safe online while predicting and acting defensively against the tact of cyber desperadoes.

Dikorah is an application imbued with event management intelligence which gives the software the strategic ability to carefully and successfully organize events that will align with proposed budgets- no matter how small, regardless of anywhere-in-the-world location.

MooExams is a startup that provides an e-learning application that is developed with the relevant academic input that enables it to facilitate access to invaluable educational quality content in a whole new idea of setting and attractiveness. The fun application which provides interactive content gives access to a directory of condensed courses, questions and answers.

9 startups graced the event armed with the ingenious ideas that would form their pitches with which they will stand the chance to hoist the Cameroonian flag at the regional level. Joseph Abena, Eric Niat, Peter Ndichu, Ntamack Serge and Pamela Happi selected made up the Cameroonian panel of judges who scored the pitching contestants based on the innovativeness of their products. The panel also believed that the winning teams provided real-time solutions to the immediate, everyday problems faces not just be Cameroonians, but Africans at large. The other startups that participated included Mosa, Digital, VEhSEh, ASATA, Best and AMZILL.

Steve Tchoumba of ActivSpaves remarked at the event that “ActivSpaces is yet grateful to DEMO Africa for giving Cameroonian startups the platform on which they can showcase their innovative talents The numerous merits the competition has in the offing will upsurge the growth of innovative technology in Cameroun.

The Cameroonian winner startups will see their innovations compete for a chance to represent Central Africa at the event launching on 18th and 19th October, in Morocco. The regional startups that pull through will automatically qualify for the round of 30, where competitors will be provided with resources worth more than USD 150 K including USD 120 K software tools from Microsoft and USD 15 K from AWS to help them expand their businesses.

DEMO Africa is one of the flagship initiatives of Lions@frica that is geared towards connecting African startups to the global ecosystem. The DEMO Africa stage presents a platform for the most innovative companies across Africa to launch their products and announce their solutions to the world.
