WeeTracker UberPITCH – Meet The Startups

Last month we opened the search for startups who would participate in the SA’s very first startup web series: #UberPITCH. We received over 250 applications full of enthusiasm, and meticulously filtered out the top four to pitch to these dynamic VC’s.

The profiles of these startups were matched with sector focus of the investment firms and paired up to get the maximum result from these 90 seconds. So, wait no more, go ahead and find out the stars who will dazzle us with their ideas and innovations!

Auto Guard SA

This startup offers comprehensive vehicle service plans to all motor vehicle models and types. The business operates across all provinces in South Africa and has plans to enter the bordering countries. Auto Guard SA works with both the manufacturing agents and RMI approved workshops.

Bettr Finance

Tobie van Zyl

Bettr is virtual banking experience powered by a smartphone. The startup provides its customers with a zero monthly account fee and debit card. It offers its account holders an interest of 5% on their savings. The key features of this virtual account include a connection with the open marketplace with financial products and services. 

Picup Technologies

Antonio Bruni

The startup is in the last mile delivery sector, with a vision to make delivery simple, using technology and a crowdsourced driver model. The platform allows individuals and small businesses to place on-demand and scheduled deliveries. For the larger e-commerce companies, the startup offers an integrated Enterprise Solution with real-time optimised pricing through their PARCS model (Parcel and Rate Calculator System), which calculates an optimized rate per parcel for both the driver, the business and the client. 

Vibescout

Jonathan Myburgh

This startup is a location-based aggregator of entertainment content; ranging from events, experiences, movies, guides and more. Businesses use Vibescout to promote their offerings and specialties through a range of interactions with the website’s visitors. The platform claims to have listed 6000 events happening in South Africa at any given time. Everything from the local food market to some of SA’s biggest concerts & festivals are captured by this startup.
