Bangladesh Based Ride-Hailing Startup Shohoz Raises USD 15 Mn, French Startup Isorg Secures USD 28 Mn And More

ASIA

Australia and Singapore based Gilmour Space technologies has picked up USD 19 M in a series B round led by main Sequence Ventures, for propelling micro-satellites to space. 

Indian budget hotel chain OYO has raised a USD 800 Mn and has received a further commitment of USD 200 M from Japan’s Softbank. At a valuation of USD 5 Bn, OYO is India’s second most valuable company after PayTM.  

Netradyne, a Bengaluru and San Diego based AI startup has raised a  USD 21 M series B funding led by Microsoft’s venture arm M12.  The company focusses on the driver and commercial fleet safety.  

Singapore’s antitrust watchdog has fined USD 9.5 M Uber and Grab for breaking competition rules when they merged earlier this year.

Shohoz, a Bangladesh based ride-hailing, and ticketing platform has grabbed USD 15 M in a pre-series B round led by Golden Gate Ventures.

Indonesia’s Venturra Capital has launched a USD 15 M seed fund and is planning to invest in 30- 40 startups over the next four years with cheque sizes ranges from USD 200 K – 500 K.

EUROPE

Isorg, a France based image sensor development startup, secured USD 27.8 M in a round led by US-based New Science Ventures.

Madrid-based Stratio, a big data analytics startup, landed USD 15 M in Series B funding round led by Adara Ventures.

Meritech Capital led the USD 34.8 M funding round of Germany-based Instana, which is an app performance management platform.

In a Series B funding round led by Accel, London-based cybersecurity startup Synk raised USD 22 M.

French SME banking startup Qonto has secured USD 23 M in a round led by its existing investors Alven and Valar Ventures.

USA

The Infatuation, curating recommendations for restaurants has secured USD 30 M from WndrCo. Hollywood magnate Jeffery Katzenberg is the founder of WndrCo.

New York-based Cargo, a ride-hailing startup has landed USD 22 M Series A funding at a valuation a little to the left of USD 100 M.

Cambridge-based biotech startup KSQ Therapeutics raised USD 80 M Series C financing.

Collaborative data startup from Austin, Data.world, landed USD 12 M in a round led by Workday Ventures which witnessed participation from OurCrowd and The Associated Press.

Blockchain gaming console Blok. Party raised USD 10 M in a funding round led by crypto fund JRR Capital.

Stripe, a payment infrastructure startup is valued at USD 20 Bn after a funding round of USD 245 M. The funds shall be used for international expansion, particularly in Asia.
