Whatsapp, Facebook And Instagram Down For Many Users

By  |  July 3, 2019

You are probably not affected, but our beloved instant messaging app Whatsapp is down. Not just this platform, but also Facebook and Instagram, as reported, have access problems. Pictures, videos, and status updates can neither be viewed nor uploaded.

No one actually knows the reason for hitches, but it looks like it could be a semi-outage. The affected social media platforms have taken to Twitter – the only unaffected major platform as of now – to apologize for the inconvenience. They have also said they are working to resolve the problem.

It seems to be a global hiccup, as people from Nigeria, the UK, China, and other countries have tweeted about the problem. For Whatsapp, one can still send and receive messages and make voice and video calls. On the Facebook side of the conundrum, it is reportedly impossible to send all kinds of files via chat.

Well, Facebook is the owner of both Instagram and Whatsapp. While no one knows how the problem came to be, we feel it is all connected. Many sites are reporting this, however, as a server problem – it could be minor or major.

This news comes on the heels of recent internet drama in Africa, in which Sudan, Mauritania, and Ethiopia have shut down web access to their citizens within the past month. Gadgets Africa reported a few months ago that Facebook was down in some regions.
